NorthPointe Resources presents “Breaking Barriers – My Journey” – a webinar by Heather Clark, Self-Advocate

NorthPointe Resources invites you to “Breaking Barriers – My Journey” presented by Heather Clark on Wednesday, February 15 at 10am. Heather Clark is a self-advocate who is passionate about educating others about people with disabilities and all they offer. Heather would like to share with others the things that she has accomplished, the obstacles that she’s faced, and to let people know that their disability should not hinder their dreams.

Everyone has the ability to make decisions for themselves; and self-advocacy involves not only standing up for what you believe in, but also in helping others understand what self-advocacy means for them. Through her personal experiences, Clark shares the importance of overcoming disabilities with perseverance and self-advocacy.

With self-determination and focus there is nothing you can’t accomplish. Obstacles are only road bumps that slow us down. Through perseverance and an action plan, you can enjoy the smooth road afterwards. Heather will identify the importance of self-advocacy and self-determination by sharing personal examples and experiences.

Heather is an active member of the Self-Advocates of Lake County, the Alliance Board and Alliance Steering Committee for Operation Community Access, as well as a Board Member of the ARC of IL. Heather enjoys reading, talking to friends and family, and being helpful where ever needed.
